I never had a problem using West System. Any bleed through easily scraped of with a cabinet scraper.

What makes you say not to go near epoxy on veneers?

I reckn the Danish oil would be fine, seen it used lots on Kitchen bench tops etc, but i'd be using epoxy to glue it up if it is oiled. I'd use 'Techniglue' if you can get your hands on some, easy to...

I've never tried tapering a leg and leaving a foot on it like you've explained and posted a pic of.

I've always done that on a Spindle Moulder by making a cradle for the leg...

The jointer method is probably not the easiest, but its in no way difficult. It takes alot of the cleaning up work away that the saw leaves, the jointer makes a nice square, sharp, straight taper,...

'Techniglue' epoxy resin, it won't be moving anywhere as long as you mix it correctly :2tsup:
