Download dbpoweramp, rip your CDs to .flac files. Have a look at JRiver Media Centre 21 (download trial) as playback software. This should set you on the right path.

Buy a Triton and don't worry about a router lift. Put in a car jack as a lift. Buy a smaller router eg deWalt 621 for hand jobs "ouch!!" and leave the triton permanently installed.
