I believe the 5000 is old model, it is replaced by 5500. The only difference between 4500 and 5500 is 4500 has 50W less power than 5500, it shouldn't be a big deal.

$300 should get you a really good 235mm circular saw (Makita, Hitachi, Bosch, Dewalt, etc), just stay away from GMC/Ozito and you'll be happy.

I used the segmented saw blade to cut a hole in weather board and ruin the blade, didn't realise the board is too hard for the blade.
To get a new blade, it'll cost me $89.00...
