Ok, I got it figured out not. I think what happened is on the rear of the spindle, I think its the take up nut, the nut anyway that adjust the freeplay/endfloat of the spindle bearings, was...

Just went and looked at it again, and its too stiff. I can only turn it with big pliers, so I squirted a little more oil down the hole.

Yes I can now turn them separately, but it is stiff a little, how easy should they turn? I haven't tried to engage the back gear yet with it running.

Ok, I just went and chucked a piece of pipe on the jaws sideways, put a rag on the pulley and grabbed it with some water pump pliers and it broke free fairly easily, but its stiff to turn, so is that...

I pulled the spring/wire right out, and the pin still wouldn't come all the way out. I only had a couple of minutes to mess with it, tomorrow hopefully I'll get it out. I suspect its never been...

There is a slight gap inbetween the bull gear and the v-belt pulley right where the "pin" locks the two together.

Ya, I tried the screwdriver, I disengaged the belt, also tried pliers on the pin, no luck. How to disassemble the spindle? Is it very difficult?

Ok I had a few minutes to go and look at it, I found the pin, but can't get it to disengage? It pulls out like 3/8" but still not disengaged from the pulley's.?? What to do.

Yes Canada EH! According to the register there is 3 so far in Canada that have been registered. Yes it's a T-slot. Not sure if its been replaced or not. The guy I bought it from restored it.
