So a 4wd rim/tyre on a 12"/2 tonne combo is actually rated at 1600kg - is that correct? O is it somewhere in between 1600kg and 2T?

I was planning on using 265/65/17 tyres with a load/speed rating of 112T. They have a diameter of around 776mm.

The wheels I was planning on using are 17x8" +42 and are rated to 1180kg each.

Yeah there are load rated 19's, but they are basically 4x4 tyres. I probably should have said that I would have trouble finding a low profile 19" tyre with a high load rating.

I will use components that are rated above 750kg. I would use Falcon bearings and hubs on this job for sure. I couldn't use weak Holden gear here. :tongue5:

My weakest link is my wheel/tyre...

I would say it might be loaded over 1000kg GVM sometimes as the trailer itself will weigh between 400 - 500kg by itself I would say, so it doesn't leave much room under 750kg for an actual load.

You should build one out of a BA Falcon tub. My old BA Falcon tub trailer/camper weighed between 400 and 450kg. I can't remember the exact figure, but it didn't have a chassis as heavy as yours.
