we do get what we call tool samples for approval...
we do get what we call tool samples for approval and depending on the company you can get up to 12m or so.
it will not be aged (heat treated) or finished (just plain mill) but it means you only pay... -

unfortunately you cannot avoid the tooling cost and material as a minimun

i am located in SE Melbourne and i am trying to find a source for my metal needs.
i tried Bohler that is very close to where i work but i feel their pricing is a bit on the high side....
