I dont have an Alko off road hitch, read on my swag forum a guy put one on and hated it. I have an ozhitch and it is great, have had tregg/trigg ones and they are a pain compared to OzHitch

I Know, but as i have put rated chains on the trailer, i couldnt weld them on. I still think using rated shackles, which are fixed so they can not come loose, is as good as if not better than...

Just after some advice. I have read that the centre line of axle should be placed back 25mm for every 300mm of trailer box length. My question is, If you are putting on a large tool box...

Used etch primer, then primer and the crap still scrapes off (just by movement of wood on it). I used Kill rust on outside (white) and it seems to be a lot more hardy

Tows unbelievably well, even the wife doesnt mind towing it. It has same wheel track and is same width as the patrol so we can take baisically any where we like

Getting rego done on Thursday....finally.
Tare weight came in at 640kg, rated for 2.8T, will have to add spare tyre and tool box later

The last of what i have done so far, coated the chasis with a 3M body deadener from Super Cheap. This stuff is much better than the other tar based stuff they used to have. Painted on with brush....

Front Plate for Hitch. This was made to fit under the draw bar, to counter act the extra height from 16" wheels. The plate is 10mm thick. I have trimmed down the fronts of the draw bar, but still...

Tray Mounts, were welded to the rail, made from 60x5mm angle

The draw bar attached, i welded to front hanger.

Next are the Rails that the Truck Tray will sit on (75x50x2mm)

Then the cross rails (these were out of Gal, cause it was what i had around)

Next tack the springs on

Just another quick qn, position of the centre of roller rocker spring. Should it be 2" or 4" back from centre of tray (tray being 10 feet long)
