Agree with not using Scotchbrite on slideways.
Sometime ago I made mention of the damage, loose abrasive grains, can do to a lathe.
Scotchbrite is no exception.

Hercus 260 Cross & Compound Thread
I machined mine to .187" dia & Screwcut to 3/16" - 24 tpi BSW thread form & they fitted fine.
The larger dia. heads of the Screws are Knurled.
