that pen does look nice - did you use RP for the resin part, if so how did you find the shrinkage ..?

You could just leave the lid off for a few days, this will thicken up..:2tsup: not tooo many days though.!!

I think this might be something I can try, all I need is .nail polish, resin, molds, (need one of each :doh:) I have pen kits :2tsup: and a lathe... Hehe

You have done a great job on that one - Do you find that using non_traditional timber to give good results...

I used an old rose bush earlier this year and it was supprising how it turned out

i have checked out your spreadsheat also and think they probably look a little expensive. I have seen comments on the forum that pens made in taiwan are the better pens ? if you don't mind me asking...

what sort of stuff did you order, I'm curious as to what is not available in australia, and where you were looking for these kits..

that is a very nice pen is it difficult to do a closed end pen, I'm guessing you can use the standard mandrel, where do you buy these mandrels>

I placed a comment on one of the other folders about turning acrylic, what do you use to glue the parts together and do they come appart when turning them,

Also how hard is it to turn ...

sorry to be a pain but it was mentionesd turning acrylics, is this new I have only been here a few time bo Ppl actually turn this stuff on a lathe is is dificult

I think the black stuff is metal fillings from the snading I always try to sand to the outside of the blank so as not to drag the dust back into the blank

also I try to turn close to the diameter...

all the ones I use are 52mm except fort he euro the top tube is slightly longer, this might be because of the ring that you need to cut a step in

that does look very nice is it difficult to turn opal
