yea, got them from brownells, the gun line checkering set, good to start out with a middle size as the smaller ones are a little fiddly and the big ones have to remove alot of material to get the...

put the action back into the stock and ran a quick funtion test to see that the 3 shot mag box mod has worked.

first thing is to cut an out line, i dress this up last as you will usualy get a few lines where you over shoot the border.

tidy'ed up the cross bolts, and spent most of the weekend sanding down to 320, then giving it a good rub over with a very fine foam sanding pad, acted more as a buff than sanding.
once i was happy...

i did manage to get the cap and grip glued before i set off on a camping trip so atleast it left the glue to set well before i got back this arvo....

no major work today, as a 3 and a half hour job finished at half five :rolleyes:
but i did prep some buff horn for the forend and grip cap....

i mentioned the stock duplicator on another thread and thaught i would make a project of the new ruger mk77 chambered in 458 AR, that i have just got off kunkie.
the stock supplied is just a factory...

yea theres no way i would make it so thin on a centerfire, but a big part of the motivation was it being easy for a little person to handle so as you say the smiles speak for themselves

pester power wins, i had to assemble the rifle with only 4 coats of truoil, because we had to see how it shoots. ::)

got boored and so i sanded the bedding back to flush with the stock last nite, so with nothing better to do i rubbed a good coat of truoil into the stock with steel wool.
a quick rub back this...

i have just come back in from bedding the action into the stock.
i decided because the zastava action has only the one action screw i would bed the whole action and barrel channel, but after looking...

duno if you guys are into this stuff but i will post up the project i worked on last week:

yea both, this rifle is the ultimate cross dresser, this is its 4th stock, the original plastic rubish got used for a template, i have a mahogany stock that i have inlet a floor plate kit to acept 10...

there is very little available for a lefty that was part of the motivation to make my own.
