Iooks like it may be mana gum but they look diferent up here.
I cut one of these that was a butifull straight billet for a customer and it has craizy tention and will twist up badly or even split.... -

No i made some top Quality decking and 4x3 fence posts.
It was in worse shape then i thort with a split runing around a groth ring 300mm from center.
But there was some realy cleen timber in it.... -

Have the opertunity to mill a large red gum that has been hit by lightning whitch has split the top half but looks to be about 4-5 M of cleen log.

Got out of there yesterday.
With a 1.2cubic m pack of 35mm slabs,seam a shame to cut it all up in to coping bords.
I did keep the best cut (60mm) for a coffe table for myself to remind me of that... -

I use 19mm from signet, All cost around $330 with 50m of 19mm.Ye the zinc coated band leaves rust stain.The black one we used to use at the green mill dosent have this problem.

Ye i have stacked,graded,cut lots of tallowwood...
Ye i have stacked,graded,cut lots of tallowwood in large mills and its not to bad hay.
Dont think the tention will be a problem as the timber is only to hold up a roof over a shiping container.
