I've heard chook say there are many old tools at Beenleigh markets on the weekend, but have not been there myself.

5mm seems a bit off for me - have you tried scribing a line with a straight edge so you only take off everything above the line? the 7 should be more helpful than a 5

Lots of interesting input, thanks I'll see if I can take some of it on board, like all these things proper process is difficult to put into words once you have it i'm sure its obvious.

I practiced on the weekend, the overall finish and feel appeared more refined but there was the occasional "crunchy" feeling on the stone and some larger scratches so not sure if there is a problem...
