Yes it is a square table that can swivel.

I think the t-bolt option is the way to go and I can the use the table to position the work under the chuck as required.

My original design had considered this but the distortion worries me.

In Rods machine he looks to have encased the alu extrusion in aluminium plate which certainly would have strengthened...

This may be the go. I will be getting the front of the final product milled square anyway so this is possibly a cheaper alternative.

The only concern with the aluminium is if it will distort under load.

The dark parts I think is the second colour sitting in the grain of the timber. I might bring a drawer in for you to have a look at this...

I have removed a lot of the second colour from the desk now. it is starting to look good but is still very dark in places.

I am not sure whether I should French polish and wax the desk or strip it...
