Any small mill worth their salt should be able to cut them for you. All that is needed is a sample board to match them to. It is abit more mucking around than normal but that just makes life...

I don't think stihl or oregon make a standard .404 nose bar in 25" to suit a 660. They do make them for the 880 but thats a different mount. Sounds like someone "frankensteined"...

Yeah put it back together with a new key and see how it looks. A "woodruff" key has a rounded bottom(think semi-circle) or if its just a flat groove use a normal square key of the correct dimension

Looks like the keyway (the slot in the shaft ) is worn out which has allowed the key to wear permitting the gear to loosen on the shaft. If that has occured it might be difficult to get the gear...

I ran an old Macquarie forestmill for a little while doing what you you want to do. We flitched up cants until the log was small enough to go through a karasaw,it worked well...

Those are the sawmills thats give us all a bad name. Right up there with mills that don't pay for logs or downgrade them just because they think they can get away with it.

That sure is a run of bad luck, but it is always good to get done with the bad stuff early in the year

Something else to consider when building with green hardwood, you need to build in stages so as to let the timber settle. Otherwise you end up with a rather wonky and unsquare house. Nothing looks...

In regards to 50 grade oil I used to buy it from Shell, it was called" straight 50" .usedta use it in an old truck to combat excessive oil comsumption but thats another story.

These machines look very robust for their size I can understand why carpenters liked to have them on the job site:)

At a guess dowidat being a german brand they would be the older of them .I have some of both and cannot fault them either,also they have a connection to gedore somewhere along the way as well:)

in my opinion you can't go wrong with the old siddons/sidchrome spanners. some of the others you might look out for are dowidat,stahl wille, britool or king dick all good quality old...

just bought one of these didn't pay that much for it tho
