I have found when using a large Forstner bit when making an insert for clocks is to use a very light feed rate but with the lathe speed not that slow that will tend to hog the bit.

I have had this since 2009 having bought it from the US ,it is now time for someone else to have the pleasure of owning it....

I use all my dry pine for kindling only merely for getting the fire going .I'm usually using Jarrah,Sheoak, Karri ,Banksia hardwoods for a the fire. Plenty of that around here.
