Personally I like the idea of the dowels been used. I would clean up the holes and glue it back on. As stated the problem is the clean up might make the dowel holes bigger.

I have used boiled linseed oil for my top. I also used that for the wooded handled garden tools after the original polish comes off.

I find that the jigsaw is not the best for exact cuts. I use it mainly to get close to the line and then come up with other means to get to the line.

Well that's one way of ensuring that you have some shed time.

I have seen people using penetrating oil in order to remove two metal parts. That being said I have used WD-40 (only thing that I had in the shed) and left it for a while before attempting to remove.

If i was to seal it I would use an oil. No varnish.

I have seen a few pieces that do not seem to have a finish applied and wondered about them. They were almost white.

I think more people will attend as it covers more crafts. So for someone that is into one of the other hobbies will be exposed to wood working and vise versa.
