It's all sorted now. The jig arrived (thanks Pat and Chris) and I spent half an hour or so getting all three blades perfectly flat and shaving sharp. Leaves a beautiful clean surface finish now....

I haven't had a problem with rust and I have a large leather tool roll with around 20 chisels in. It is quite dry where I live though and I don't have a problem with rust on any surface tbh.

I actually have a NATA certified calibration tape measure. You can buy the calibrated tapes for not a lot of money but mine is a 30m one that has been sent to a NATA lab (not by me) for verification....
