That 2nd one has fantastic "figure" I guess you call it. I think it would be nicer just as a turn out tradition bowl like the first.

They have a full stock now and I picked one up on the wknd.

They have "bigger" bottles that are very cheap.

No base at all and a much smaller finial I think would look great though that's a significant change to the style you're probably after :)

I like turning Cypress Pine, I find that pretty easy to manage:)

i've seen it used and looks very simple and comes up with a nice glossy deep finish with little effort. Looks ideal for larger bowls.

looks pretty dry, cut off the stump and i reckon 3 bucks is not bad though 2 bucks per kilo, no stump, that would be fair for a border crossing, a legal crossing obviously!

As said above you need a casting resin. YouTube will have a lot of useful and not so useful tips. Read up a tad just on resins themselves and shop around if only through online stores. They all are...

You might be mixing up vacuum and pressure. The pressure pots are the big metal ones with screw down lids. Thats what I see most people use. The converted paint spray cans are pressure pots.
