    Default Deodar for utility bowls?

Got a commision for three bowls and have roughed them out of Deodar cedar.

    It's pretty aromatic.

Does anyone have any experience with the stuff? Does it lose the smell over time or can it be sealed?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers, Ern

    Thumbs up

Chopped one down years ago that was about 60 ft. tall. Beautiful tree and very aromatic timber, as you say Ern. Unfortunately timber had to be used as firewood.

That's the limit of my experience.

    Ouch!

For a 'softwood' it's pretty hard. The Brits used it for railway sleepers in India.
