    Default How are table end finials made?

    I know this is going to be a dumb question, but, are table end finials made and then cut down the center, or are two pieces of wood joined and turned at the same time?

    Normally joined using paper and glue. The glue line is later split through the paper after turning.

    Yes. We normally fit a rail down the sides so that they stay straight and square and rip them in half.

    Sand the bandsaw cuts to neaten them up.
