    How did you darken the natural edge of the first one?

    Thank you

    with a blow torch Cliff- I knew the bark wouldint stay on, so the few bits which were left after turning got removed then i took the piece outside and did the burning then let it cool before remounting it and sanding.

    Ta, I have tried using a gas torch to blacken stuff & just made a mess.

    I have also tried the liquid nightmare with some sucess but it only works on certain timber.

    The stuff that has worked best for me is Skuff Stuff (liquid shoe black that comes in a plastic bottle with a foam pad applicator on the top of it.)
