For all those thaat use Holly in their turning projects, How do you keep that pure white color?? Do you seal it with something before you finish and if so what?? I am making an ebony and holly pen and want tokeep the 2 contrasting colors as sharp as possible. Thanks

I've made a couple of pens from Holly. Not sure the best way to keep them white though. I turned them to size and sanded and then just gave the usually CA finish but the result was slightly off white, but not to far from the original colour.

I got a tip from Cindy Drozda a few years back, to use clear shoe polish, works a treat on small iems like pens and finials For bigger stuff, I finish with Nitrocellulose Lacquer, it's the clearest I've found.
