Wood Turning Lessons
Hello can anyone help me, I want to take up wood turning as a hobby. Can anyone advise me where I could attend lessons in the Melbourne area. Ideally the South East would be brilliant.
Many thanks

You couldn't go wrong with joining the Peninsula Woodturners. They are near Frankston.

Hi there,

G'day Deb,
I visited a few clubs in the outer east to get a bit of a feel and found the Koonung Woodturners in Blackburn worked for me. Ray Smith is a great teacher and had me on a lathe 10 minutes after arriving and have been attending the Thursday arvo session ever since. Costs $3 a session to cover power costs and is from 1PM to 3PM. My advice is to find out when a few clubs run their beginner's sessions and drop in on them and see where you feel most comfortable.
