    Default Tassy burl bowl

Eucalyptus burl with powdered brass in the the resin veins. 11x4 finished with Wop and buff to dial back the gloss.

Maybe shoulda buffed it more as it was hard to get the brass to show .

Very nice bowl. Its a nice bit of timber and the shape suits it. Looks like gold veins throughout.

    Very nice.

I love the figure in the middle photo.
So much timber, so little time.

Nice looking bowl Hughie, love that crack filler effect, could I ask what kind of glue/ resin you use. Also where do you get that brass powder or do you make your own?

    Hi Hughie,

Nice bowl indeed. I am not a fan of filling cracks with anything other than wood (Glue and dust usually) so it worries me not at all that the gold doesn't show too much.

Great shape and finish. Interesting wood.

I got my powder from Australian Metal Powders here in Sydney [02-9681-6155 ] but I found them on line. As to glue you will need the super thin CA anything else wont soak into the powder.
