I bought a palette of Kwila hardwood a few months ago from the auctions and have put it up as a horizontal ballaustrade around my patio.

Problem is that the day I bought it, it was bucketing down, as a result, when I got it back to my place a lot of the stain had pooled and had then dried on the wood leaving stain splotches.

I have hosed it down quite often to bleed all the stain from it (heaps), but I am still left with some splotches where it had pooled.

Hosing it anymore will start to cause the non-splotchy areas to fade too much, but if I were to seal it now, it will stay splotcho's.

I tried rubbing the areas with cloth, scrubbing etc, but that just super bled the wood. Any thoughts?? (Orbital sand??)

Secondly, what would anyone recommend as a sealer/varnish for it that will hold its colour and beauty but will not get nailed by the sun within 12months.

Cheers
