My old X150 had circlips each end of the spindle in the headstock.
Remove any chuck etc, remove drive pulley. Mine has a grub screw and the pulley came off very easily. Others might need a bearing puller of sorts.
Using circlip pliers or a sharp pointed tool take out the circlips from each end of the headstock.
Slide out the spindle shaft, mine came out towards the tailstock.
Then using a long drift gently tap out a bearing out of the headstock, then do the same for the other end. You tap them out from the inside of the headstock to the outside.
When you took them out the spindle shaft came out, but left inside a spacer.
When the bearings were gently tapped out you could see and get to the spacer.
To put new bearings in is easy.
Gently tap in a bearing, slide in the shaft from the tailstock end and put the spacer back on then gently tap in the other bearing.
    Refit circlips. Test run.

Pic of my old lathe if any help.

My bearings cost about $8 each, but I just took the first I could find and didn't shop around.

    Hope this may help.

    Default Wood fast lathe spindle

    Hi all,
can any one help, I can't seem to get my spindle to come out...I hammer it a certain length and it just stops dead and goes no more. It seems that the step pulley hits the inner casing then that's as far as it goes.
Anyone got the tricks of the trade when it comes to removing a spinal that gets stuck.

Have you checked for grub screws to attach the pulley to the shaft.
    Probably be 2 Allen headed.
