Being as we have just had a moon eclipse I have managed to get back in my workshop to carry on with my own moon phase again..
But it isn't just a plain bit and I thought about time. So, time it was
The base, upright, pins and clock body are ash and the moon is oak. It was a right awd game to get it centred but I like it..
Before the clock I made something totally different and quite practicle. I haven't made one for ages. The last one was for the cousin of SWMBO

Cracked it Dalboy, just friction. Just tighten/loosen the crews until you can move it without pulling the handle off !!! The wood for it is beech and ideal for it. The pins were a bit of a bind to turn, but if I'm oing the job then I like it right, sometimes??
I have to admit that the only reason for 2 woods is that I didn't have a good bit of ash for the moon, but I agree, they work very well together. My ambition is to grow old disgracefully. So far my ywife recons that I'm doing quite well! John.
