    Default How was it Turned?

    I assume the item in the attached photo was lathe turned. I am curious about how it would have been held in the final stages given it is 22" in diameter. It is the work of Jim Keller:

    Kyle Toth made a segmented torus a while back on YouTube. He used a couple of methods to hold it. It is near the end the video.

    My Tail Stock Steady would have been the best tool for the last bit of turning or cleaning out the center. . I'll post a video some day. Unfortunately the Tail Stock Steady won't be available for Australia as shipping and money exchange makes it too costly...... Jerry (in Tucson)

    That Kyle Toth is almost genius. Also he can make one of them in about 7 Minutes!!!!!!!
