Never thought of wood as I have always used old cartridge casings, however, I have made a few priests using huon pine for the handle and lignum vitae for the head ( or solid timber with lead inserted into a hollow head).
For those who are not fly fishers, a priest is a little club that fits in the pocket for administering 'last rites' to the trout (for WB1 that is Troot )
Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.
