waxed coated timber

I just recieved an order of timber (YEAH). That is coated with wax all the way around as a sealer. How do I remove it with out losing any timber. They are smaller size pieces that I ordered to make segmented turnings and there is 10 kg of them.

And No I want them all. Once I have finished I will then dispose of the the left overs & not till then. Just getting in the last one before anyone asks.

Wax is not that thick to get rid of, use a scraper, then clean of with some minral oil, or use hot airgun, microwave small settings to test. you are going to be cutting angles somewhere so theres your glue joints you can mount each ring and turn lots of posibilities, depends on the way you work. I was thinking of a plane blade held in a vice and the timber scraped over it (assuming it is fairly small)
Or maybe a plane held upside down in a vice and a thin shaving taken off as the timber is passed over the plane
You would only have to do 4 sides, ie those glued
