It also comes with a stepped pulley setup to fit your motor, so you'll have six speeds that you change manually, if you scroll down to the specifacitions list and standard accesories list you'll see that its all there.

maby you have an old lathe lying around to steel a motor off or other unused machinery.
i for one have a few old motors lying around.

I think theVL 100 is a great little lathe, but therein lies the problem- it's a little lathe.
