Lathe info wanted

Hi. I have been doing some turning at a mates place and would like some information.
What sort of lathe would i need? What tools are available and where can you get them?

That's a pretty general question. The real answer is, how much are you going to spend? As with most hobbies, you can spend forever. I would suggest you chase up your nearest wood group or club. This site has all sorts of links to clubs and businesses and if you find one in your area, that will be a good starting point. Ask a few questions of people in your area and try and get a peek in a few workshops. I'm sure plenty of people on this BB can throw brand names at you but you need to have a first hand look at the gear and see if it will suit you and your budget. Good Luck
