    Default Floating Shelf

    Hi
Just wondering if anyone can tell me where I can buy a bracket to mount a floating shelf? I've searched the internet and tried Bunnings but not having much luck. Alternatively, can anyone tell me how to make one using a wooden bracket or something?
    thanks
    Liz

I've installed a few of these in office fitouts.

CliffHANGER Shelf Support 16mm (CH SS 16) - CliffHANGER Shelving Parts - ORDER - Shelving support Manufacturers/Wholesalers | DIY Floating Shelving Bracket, shelving supports | Shelving systems | CliffHANGER Shelving New Zealand

It's an NZ company, I don't know where to buy them is Aus? Try emailing them.

I would reccomend that you cut a section of plaster out and fit extra noggins. They need allot of solid fixing.

    Thanks for the replies

Kyle - that looks like you would see the brackets, more like a cantilevered type thing instead of a floating shelf. Not quite what I was after.

Brett - I had a look at that thread. I only want the bracket, although I have thought about just buying the whole kit and only using the bracket, but when I talked to one company they told me their bracket is made to punch into a shelf made of compressed cardboard and wouldn't really work with a wood shelf.

The Ikea brackets in that thread from what I can gather actually go over the end of the shelf, so they aren't really hidden, but they are much tidier than normal.

The Hafele one is looking like the best option at the moment, although I was hoping to have one bracket with 2 prongs on it as I thought it would be easier to get one bracket straight rather than 2.
