Litchfield Park instead of Kakadu, it's closer, better and you see more. Take your time and try and see all the different falls along the way, and a swim at Wangi is worth it. The wildlife park out that way is pretty good to, sorry forgotten the name.

Darwin has probably changed a fair bit since I lived there, but the croc farm used to be pretty good.

Adelaide River jumping croc cruise, assuming it is still running

If you have afew days spare, travel down to Katherine to see the Gorge, hot springs, caves etc, and perhaps Edith Falls on the way back (swim at falls and prospect in river downstream near main highway for Jasper and Agate.

Does that mean you're not heading out west to your Dad's late August anymore? My trip is verrrrry up in the air anyway.

    Enjoy NT

There is not a lot to see that can't be done in about 3 days.

Mindil beach markets at night sometimes has good entertainment.

Feeding the fish at one of the wharves if they still do it.

The cyclone Tracy exhibit is worth a look.

    Old army fuel depot.

That is about all I remember.

Check out the tourist bureau as well.

    Cliff,

Don't miss the market at Parap on a Saturday morning, or Rapid Creek on a Sunday morning. You can get excellent tropical fruit that are hard to find elsewhere, even in Cairns. Look for rollinia, black sapote, and maybe some early mangoes. If you have transport, there is good croc-free swimming at Howard Springs.

Check out berry springs if you have a car, I spent many weekends as a kid swimming there, it is an awesome place... Near Batchelor and Litchfield there is Rum jungle lake which is cool, it is an old uranium mine. School used to take us swimming there, it is about 100m deep. There are barra farms you can fish at close to Darwin. No barbs and keep the best 3 was the go last time we went, take a barbie and catch your lunch? The botanical gardens are nice to walk through, you can get to mindal markets and the war bunker on same track. If you want to do something really territorian? you could go to the humpty doo pub and have a few.
