Good timber on the Sunshine Coast?
Hey all,
Just wondering where people on the Sunshine Coast get decent furniture timber....the places I’ve looked so far don’t seem to sell much beyond fence and decking wood. Any suggestions? Cheers

I grow trees here on my farm just north of the Sunshine Coast and own a small sawmill. I should be able to supply you with what you want. I mostly grow Hoop Pine, Silver Ash, Qld Maple, Red Cedar and Camphor Laurel. It depends on what you want and what is available.

I have got some off cuts from Bob in the past and can highly recommend him, if you are looking for rough sawn timber. Great friendly guy, super helpful and nice timber species direct from tree to your vehicle.
Depending on the species, just check it for borer before you leave because you are getting it direct from the plantation.
There is another guy in the Morton Bay area that specializes in burls.
Also if you do a Google Search you will find that there is at least 2 timber suppliers of furniture grade timbers right on the Sunshine Coast.
There are others in Brisbane North.
Hopefully, next year the Maleny Wood Expo will be back and that is where I normally stock up.My YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/2_KPRN6I9SE
