Triton Prices Sky High.It must be me?
Triton Prices Sky High.It must be me?
I have been looking on ebay for the last few weeks.
Bairnsdale Electrics have been selling up heaps of triton items.
I thought I may as well get a few items if going really cheap.
Well the prices were getting higher and higher. The bidders must have been eating red lollies.
Have these items turned into collectors items or something.? Or what have I missed while I had the flu?
The volume has dropped right down now, maybe they are running out,but boy they had a lot of itemsAnyone home?

I have noticed a similar thing with GMC with prices for used no warranty products getting very close to the old RRP. Perhaps they are becoming collectors items or people with limited knowedge are just trying to get their hands on high quality tools before they are gone for good
Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

Im sorry mate but thats your opinion. You will never know the R&D and testing that went into the GMC product in comparison to other brands. I can tell you now we did more testing on our products than Bosch Green. Call it a lie if you want but I have seen it with my own eyes and why would I lie on this forum.
I am proud to have worked for a company that changed the face of Power tools in Australia, bringing down price points on tools that were far to expensive, the innovation they brought to DIY priced tools not just accepting the crap that Chinese factorys were putting out.
You can say what you like...but for me having seen it and knowing what the other guys did ( they used the same factorys!!) we were far ahead of the game.
Its a sad day when any 'Australian' company dies and the staff all lose their jobs....but it was also a sad day for the Power tool market in Australia as thats the day true competition died in that category.
RIP
Please dont attack me for my opinions.Eagle

Is it still up for grabs???
I'LL PAY YOU TRIPLE!!!
Just kidding. Like a newborn taking his first steps into appreciating everything wood, and gathering information to make intelligent set-up purchases, I've discovered there's a part of this world that's inexplicably determined to simply be... Orange!
And pricing seems irrelevant.

Triton too much
I've been watching ebay for Triton stuff for years. On some occasions I have managed to purchase an item for a reasonable amount - bargains are very hard to find! Even before Triton stuff became a "collector's item", much of the second-hand stuff fetched 60 to 80% of new prices even though you wouldn't get a warranty.
Previously 20 to 30 items on average would be offered for sale at one time - now there is 100 to 150 items! It is disappointing that even with so much choice, the prices are generally ridiculous. I don't understand why some people are now paying much more that the previous recommended retail price on the power tools without a warranty???
Spare parts and accessories for the workcentre are a different story. I have a workcentre and router stand and am now concerned about what happens if anything breaks?
Triton is/was a good brand - but some people are going a little crazy.

Yes, Eagle, I had already been following your thread and had checked out your ebay shop. I'm now waiting the two weeks you wanted to sort out your Triton stuff.
Any consumables for the spin saw?
