The danger is that we get a flood of people coming in and wanting to join the order. We are very close to filling this order ourselves, I will wait before resorting to non members.
I have updated the pdf to reflect a options for having a bevel or no bevel for your Stanley Plane Blades. Members need to post back or PM me with what stage they wished to have their Stanley Plane Blades finished to.
- Stanley Plane Blade Stage 01 = No Bevel
- Stanley Plane Blade Stage 02 = With Bevel
Sawdust Maker I have added you to the Batch 03 order.
You can have them in sets of 8 how many to sets do you want?
I need the following Members to confirm what Stage they wished to have their chisels finished to and if the want ferrules with their chisels:
- kman-oz
- funkychicken
- indy70
- rat52
- jmk89
- Kevjed
- yjnb
We have 5 set's of Chisels Left.

Hi Thumbsucker,
I'm not sure from the last few posts whether I'm too late, but if not, could I put in an order for:
1 x No 5 (2" Wide) with cap iron and screw
1 x No 6 (2 3/8" wide) with cap iron and screw
Could I possibly also get one set of 8 fancy ferrules? (I only want the ferrules, no chisels)
Thanks,
Will

Plane blades to stage one, no bevel. Actually it makes little difference to me if there is a bevel or not, but if I'm going to run them over a grinder anyway it doesn't bother me if a bit more time is spent establishing a bevel.

I'll take my chisels at stage 2 or 3, Soon I'll have the setup to grind the side bevels so I might have em in stage 2
Fancy Ferrules as well please
Also, if there are a few chisel sets left over I will buy them, stick handles and ferrules on them and re sell them

Done
If we end up being short of filling the sheet, I will be in touch.
As soon as we allocate the last Stanley Plane Blades, I will confirm all details with all the third party's. I would like to get the Stanley Plane Blades wrapped up by the middle of February. Kevjed, Slow6, Dj' Timber, haosiliu235 all have volunteered to help out with some of the logistics. If you have a spare few hours during the following month, and are willing to help out with the order.
- We need to Move two sheet's of M2 from Bohler to the Laser cutters.
- We need to pick up the Cap iron screws from the CNC lathe company.
- We need to pick up the Stanley Plane Blade blanks and the cap irons from the Laser Cutters and deliver them to the Grinding and Milling Company.
- We need to collect the finished Stanley Plane Blades and Cap Irons from the Grinding and Milling Company.
- We need to sort and post the Stanley Plane Blades and Cap Irons.
If you can help with any of the above post back of PM me as it would be much appreciated.

Stanley Replacement Blades and Paring Chissels
T.S.
Would you please put me down for 1off Stanley Replacement Blade for a Stanley
no 4 1/2 (60mm wide blade ).
If it is at all possible would I be able to order a set of only 3 chisels 15, 20, 25 to a stage 4 finish with fancy brass ferrels.
If this is not possible then just leave the order as the replacement blade.
Regards
Mac

Mac, I have put you down for one 2 3/8" Stanley Plane Blade. Do you want a cap iron with that blade?
As for the chisels. Individual chisels are hard to keep track of in such a complex order. The only way I could do it if someone else is willing to take the 3 mm, 4.5 mm, 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm to make up the set.

TS,
1 set of chisels @ stage 4 + Ferrules
1 set of chisels @ stage3 + Ferrules
as per PM a few weeks ago
I'm on school hols at the moment so:
I'd be happy to do: tasks 2,3&4 in your list if it happens in the next few weeks
We need to pick up the Cap iron screws from the CNC lathe company.
We need to pick up the Stanley Plane Blade blanks and the cap irons from the Laser Cutters and deliver them to the Grinding and Milling Company.
We need to collect the finished Stanley Plane Blades and Cap Irons from the Grinding and Milling Company.
I hope the chisel task gets the green light soon too.
All the best

Primary Bevel
Hello All and Happy New Year.
Could I please seek some clarification on this option.
As I understand it the primary bevel is the angle that we grind the end of the blade for the cutting edge. We then hone the back to make or check it is perfectly flat( which in this case should be close as our contractor are going to do a good job. We then for want of a lesser description sharpen the blade using our prefered method and add a secondary bevel if that is also our wish.
My question is then the first time we need to grid the blade we will be on our own any way and will negate the (factory) primary bevel, am I correct Also. Is the factory grind hollow ground to the same extent as an 8" (O.K. I'm old) wheel og will the diameter be so latge to be flat or actually ground flat.
Thanks in advance
CheersBrian

If you get the blades with bevel ground, all it is going to do is save you a bit of time prior to first use. Obviously the first time the bevel is ground, you will have a lot more metal to remove and if you don't have a grinder, it is going to be painful doing it with a stone. Subsequent grinds don't need to remove as much metal to get back to a clean edge.
TS can correct me but I'd imagine the bevels will be flat ground, not hollow."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."
