    Default Cape Lilac - Free!

I am soon to have a large (25m) Cape Lilac tree felled in my backyard. I was hoping that someone out there would like to use the beautiful timber instead of it being mulched.

I can have the lopper cut the wood to the desired lengths. If you would like to know more please ask!

    BTW I am in Nedlands.

I don't want any but don't have it chipped, get it cut into decent lenghts.

I had a lilac with a much longer main trunck (3 metres) milled onsite last year and posted the details on this site. As you say its beautiful timber.

Are you having the stump completly removed. Regrowth will happen if its not removed. And then there's all the yellow berry's that are just itching to grow.

    Thanks for your reply rod1949!

Yes, it looks like a beautiful timber - I would hate to see it go to waste. Unfortunately we don't have anywhere to store timber, so was hoping someone out there might like to use it.

As far as the stump goes we were only going to have it taken down to ground level. Will poison do the trick or is it going to sprout regardless?? The trunk diameter is about a metre so I can't imagine how we will get it out!
