Default advise on a free standing bar

hey guys, new to this forum so i think this is where i will post it.

I am thinking about using recycled jarrah to make a free standing bar. I was thinking about making it in either a semi circle shape or a staight fron with angled sides at about a 45deg angle. the framework and top will be jarrah but the front face panel i would like to screw on corrugated iron for a rustic type of look.

any hints or advise in regards to building it, what type of joins would be the best to use? i was thinking overall about 1.5 m long, about 0.7m wide and about a good waist to chest height so about 1.3m high rounghly.

    Thanks

    Chris

1.3m is very high, 1.25m is considered a high bar most are 1.2m the bar top only needs to be 300~400mm wide, I made one with a 500mm wide top and it feels to wide.
Are you considering a tenders deck as well?
Best type of joints depend on how and what you make the main carcass/frame from? I wouldnt use jarrah for the whole frame as you wont really see it, only use it for the outer "cladding" and tops or bits you can see.

Depends on how much it cost for the wood, there's no need to go extravagant on what you dont see quite often plain old pine will do just fine, but if you can get the Karri cheaper by all means use it.
Best joint for frame work is mortice and tennon, then dowels then biscuit joint IMHO, pocket hole screws is another
You can also make a melamine carcass frame as well(like kitchen cabinets).
