Babys cot
Hi,
My dad is making a cot for our baby (due in 2 weeks !!!!, love the way projects get started so early in our family)
But he is having a hard time finding where to get the metal parts for it, to slide the sides up and down - was hoping someone may know.
I live in Bundaberg, Queensland - so would need available in OZ.
Thanks so much.

Use the search facility on this BB (the search icon is at the top of the screen) to search for "cot hardware". There's been a bit of discussion on this previously that will be of benefit.
Cheers,
Justin.

I had the same problem a few months ago. Had to come up with my own design as what was commercially available to home woodworkers seemed of low quality and of limited choice.
You could just buy some lengths of 8mm brass rod for the sliders and mount the ends top and bottom in blocks of wood - with holes routed or drilled to accept them in the drop side. A couple of pieces of brass angle can then be used for the catches.
In the cot i built i ended up routing grooves for the drop sides.

I posted images of what I did with my cot some time back on these forums here .
The side runs in grooves in the legs and held up with angle brass catches fashioned to fit into a recess in the legs.
This system works a treat (survived our two rugrats OKRay
