Basketball Back Board
I made a temporary backboard for the brats using a scrap piece of chipboard, it worked well and after 5 years it is now considerably thicker than when it started (I wonder why? rain etc) and threatening to fall down. I said it was only a temporary measure.
Now I have to make a permanent one and I don't know what to use.
I was thinking of using 1/2" ply and sealing it with ?????????
What is the best finish to weatherproof the beast so it will last more than 5 years, and be more asthetically (wow, that was big for pre 9.00am) pleasing.
Thanks.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

Thks Stprs, ddnt fgt th E, jst bng ecnmcl wth th lttrs.
I'll get the kids to do the painting, give them something to do at the weekend.
I thought that there would be an epoxy type finish like the ones you see in the shops but oil based sounds good to me.

temporary? 5 years? nice to see im not the only one who procrastinates ... i meant thinks and plans things really well.
i would go with what stoppers suggested, i built one years ago at my parents place and its still standing. I used plywood and coated it well, got someone to weld up a nice frame that went around the edge of the board and then attached that to the support pole.Brett
