beards & wood working.
I could not help but notice that Neil was less his flowing beard at the wood show. Perhaps it got caught in the lathe or did he run out of steel wool with a dead line to meet.
In all seriousness how do our bearded brothers cope with long beards & the various issues ie soiling & safety.
I have seen the hairnet for the chin. (very atractive).
I supose if it was long enough you could plat it & tie behind the neck.

Not a problem. With the rotation of the lathe it blows it away . Dust can be a bit of a bugger but a good shower at the end of the day fixes that.Another advantage is after meals you get seconds.

Soundman,
Notice that beards are very well represented amongst woodworkers.
There was a short time when I removed my beard after having one for 15 years. As far as woodworking you sure appreciate how much a beard cushions the occasional flying chips of wood from a chisel or router. Yes, I use eye protection when using a router.
Another advantage apart from Jim's seconds is that a beard channels the sweat away from your workpiece in summer.
