Default New use for T/S blade: not!

    G'day!

Today I was cutting some mitres on some cove mouldings, using an Incra V27 mitre guide and extension fence on the T/S.

As many will know, the fence can be adjusted laterally, to accommodate changing angles.

Well, I'd cut a right 45, and then reset the mitre gauge for a left 45, and extended the fence accordingly. Fine. Next piece. right 45, cut and 'zing' - bits of shiny aluminium flying all over the place, not to mention a hell of a noise. Pull back sharpishly.

Duh! Idiot! hadn't reset the fence so the T/S blade was happily (well, maybe not all that happily  ) chewing its way through the Incra fence. Just a few mms, so not too bad, but it gave me a a bit of a heart starter

That bloke "sod" must have been listening, as I'd just last evening ordered an Incra 1000SE as an upgrade...(or maybe Grahame set the jinx on me... )

Oh well, I suppose that woodworking has a tendency to redefine "consumables"...

    Cheers!

    Ouch!

I got a v27 for my birthday last. I love it. I sure would hate to saw into it.

Still, at least no personal damage done.

    Bet it woke you up!

Ouch! Send it to me Steve, I'll put it with the rest of the tools in the 'sheltered' workshop.

BTW, make sure you check your blade for damaged teeth.

I've got a shiny crescent shape on my aluminium fence too..... but I tell people I did it on purpose.
