Building a Router Table
I've taken the week off work to build a bedhead, but got diverted into making a router table. Used 3 dowels per joint. The dowels have been sitting around for a long time and were initially difficult to put in for a dry fit. So I put them in the oven for awhile to dry out, which seemed to work.
When I clamped the long sections together (on the floor), the clamping forces were'nt central, so its' not perfectly square.

Looking good. Do you use some sort of a dowelling jig?

Using a Stanley dowel jig.
After 16 holes with the drill press and dowel jig I lost focus and undid the setting on the dowel jig. Fortunately, I had prepared for this by having it on a nice obvious setting AND taken a photo.

I forgot to mention that my drill press has a dodgy starting capacitor, and needs to be push started each time. ( For the holes in the horizontal pieces i had to use the hand held drill.)

hmm.. started 21st August. Finally got to use it on 27th Sept. .
It is a tad larger than other router tables i've seen -1200mm long. Formply top- which wasn't flat, so had to selectively release and tighten particular screws (which are spaced every 100mm or so) through the 35mm kitchen benchtop.
The fence is high to suit the particular project this was built for. (making 400 x 170 carcases using a lock mitre bit)

This last photo is the measurement of the 0.8mm adjustment needed on the fence position.

Sometime in the future i think i'll add some t-tracks, and dust extraction and maybe another fence and rulers/marks for fence position..
