Can I cancel my order?
Two weeks ago I put through an order to a timber place for some ply, cut to size. I was hoping to pick it up last Saturday, they couldn't do it so I said ok, please have it ready for next Saturday (today).
Called up about 3 times yesterday to confirm it would be ready for me to pick up first thing today. I could NOT pick it up any later due to an appointment. Basically I just kept getting the runaround on the phone, no-one really knew what was happening. I call up this morning and they tell me it will be another hour. From what I can gather what happened was that the cutting job was left half finished yesterday, clock off time came around at 4:30pm and the guys just went home without finishing my job.
I'm really off because I can't start my project this weekend now and I have to wait another week. These guys I think just don't care how long it takes them to do a "pissy little" job for a non regular customer.
So my question is, can I just say stuff you guys and not go through with the order? I haven't paid anything yet but they have cut the wood.

The question is can you get it cut somewhere else today? Can someone else get it cut for you by next saturday? Definately?
If in doubt I'd just go with this one, and make absolutely positively its perfect before you pay. Check it over twice before forking out the cash.
If you can get it done elsewhere, ring them and say "sorry" job had to be finished today, tradies coming in etc etc, was ordered 2 weeks ago and I was assured it would be ready, had to go elsewhere. Its their own fault not yours.
But make sure you can get it elsewhere and quickly first!

Well i've calmed down now! They just called and offered to drop it off to my house later today. Excellent customer service!

Wixy I would not call it excellent customer service after all the proding you had to do.
I would just put it down to service and make sure there is no delivery charge.Jim Carroll

I agree with Jim, in fact I would go one step further and say, poor service all round. I would find a new supplier for future projects.
Reality is no background music.
