    This maybe seem stupid however I have the Lie-Nielsen version, and it works a treat. Looking at the thin blade for stanley original I would be sure that the Lie-Nielsen would perform much better. Plus the all Lie-Nielsen brass gives me rust protection and heft.

    I think that paying that much for a sub-par performing tool is a little silly. Even if all that you are doing is look at it it seems a little extravagant.

    I have some old tool's, but I do so to pay less not more.

    Maybe I just wish I had that kind of money.
