    Default Door hinge solutions

    Hi all

I am installing solid timber french doors into the stairway shown in the photo attached. I want the doors and frame to be inset into the stairway about 15 - 20mm so it isn't all flush with the passage wall but I also want to be able to swing the doors 180 degrees so they don't block the passage way when open. The question is what hinges would allow me to do this. I have seen parliament hinges at Bunnings that have extra wide leaves that would allow this. But am I right in thinking that they may also result in the doors jamming into each other especially when you only open one . Any thoughts on a solution. Thanks

if it's only 15 to 20mm you should get away with 100x100mm hinges. But the parliaments won't bind if hung properly.

Thanks TM. Looks like the 100x100 hinges will be pretty successful. Ross
