    Default Faux Leather Uses ?

I have repaired approx 25 straps that held the cushions on a Barcelona Chair for my wife. The chair was not expensive so it was no surprise when the straps started breaking.

They look like leather but are really a manufactured strap that I can actually tear with my hands. I replaced them with webbing from a camping store so the chair should last a while longer.

As mentioned above, I now have 25 pieces of strap about 500mm long x 38mm wide x 4mm thick......I can either throw them away or use them in woodwork for decorative purposes (I have seen strips of leather used in woodturning).

Any suggestions as to how I could use them would be greatly appreciated.

personally I'd put them in the nearest bin, with all due respect they are just rubbish that's why you had to replace them

Fair call China......that is probably what will happen.

It's just that in this wide world of ours there always seems to someone who can find uses for anything. Thought I'd just put it out there and if anyone came up with a use I would probably send them to that person.

How about cutting 2 the strips lengthways into say 4 or 5. The attaching one end of the lengths to a nice and finely turned handle, leaving the other end free.

Could be fun for a while!!

I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.

From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".
