    Default Floorboard Adhesive

    Hi,

I am in the midst of trying to find someone to lay my floorboards - I had planned on doing them myself but have run out of time.

I have heard of 3 types of glue that the layers use and want to know the pros and cons

The first is Sika - which I think is pretty good

Then there is a selley's product

and the last one is something along the lines of "construction chemical foam grip" which I haven't heard of before!

    Any advice would be appreciated

    G'day.
    The best is Bostick Ultraset.
    Next is Sika T55j.
    Forget anything else. Especialy Selleys.

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

What are you glueing the flooring to? timber or concrete? Sika t55-J is a very good glue, Bostik is also good but you will get Sika for a lot cheaper, another type to consider is Mapei,
i lay timber flooring for a living and use tons of either Mapei or Sika

    Hi 123

I was wondering if you have used the Sika MB Moisture barrier for new (12 months +) concrete slabs? The instructions are that the T55J glue and boards should be laid a maximum of 48 hours after the Moisture barrier is applied...is this a must? From your experience, can the glue and boards be laided after this peroid? Your thoughts would be much appreciated
