Thought I'd have a poke on Youtube and just watched this.

Not for me, but to the bloke doing it

No me either, although I did once and I lived but bled.

I went to do a cut the other day, but to do it I had to take the guard off - I got cold feet and put it through the b/saw instead.

Scary thing is that some people will believe this is what you do - same as the idea "I saw it on TV therefore it must be true.

    Then again - Natural Selection??

I've never divulged this however this is what a 1 second brain f4rt on the table saw does to you. I'd been cutting multiple lengths of the same timber over a long period of time and was just finishing. I bumped the stop button with my leg and didn't wait for the saw to completely stop before grabbing the part. The rest is history. Never really hurt at the time however I remember the pain when the anaesthetic wore off. They offered to reattach however it would of been months of hand therapy etc etc. Luckily it was only the end of my finger.

    Image attached.

My late father cut his thumb off twice...yes the same one!! dick head!

He used to drum it into me that the day you disrespect any tool it will hurt you. This guy is very blasay around that blade and yes it will probably bit him.

I don't use a guard on my saw either but I do use featherboards and riving knife etc...

I used to know a seven fingered bloke who was a fantastic painter. Previously, he'd been a fantastic butcher, but not careful enough around knives!
